Skiing and snowboarding

There are over 100 kilometres of ski runs (pistes). If there is not enough snow, 95% of the ski runs can be covered with extra snow by snow machines. Our slopes are wide and beautifully set between the trees. For the enthusiasts, there is also a snow/fun park. The ski slopes have lovely mountain huts where you can have a bite to eat. Bad Kleinkirchheim has various ski schools with good instructors and ski hire outlets for all of your equipment and gear. The free ski bus stops right outside the Nockberge Lodge. When there is plenty of snow cover, you can ski right up to the Lodge. Other ski regions within a half an hour’s drive include: Gerlitzen, Turracher Hohe, Falkert and Goldeck.

Langlauf skiing

Right behind the Lodge, there is an 8 kilometre cross country trail! This trail is open from early December until Spring. When there is plenty of snow, this trail is extended to Gnesau (up to 45 kilometres). You can hire all necessary cross country gear in the village. Lessons are also available here.

Tobogganing

A great experience for both young and old! Fun in the snow! There are various tobogganing runs in the region that vary from 800 meters to no less than 4 kilometres!

Thermal pools and Wellness Spas

Carinthia has three ‘Thermenbaden’ Spas, two of which are located in Bad Kleinkirchheim. These are the Römerbad and Thermenbad St. Kathrein, which was renovated in May 2017. These Spa facilities are open all year round. The reason for the Bad Kleinkirchheim motto of “Straight from your skis into the spa” makes sense!

It is wonderful to be able to get into the sauna after a few hours in the snow, or watch the skiers on the slopes from the heated outdoor swimming pool. Maybe you want a day without skiing and just want to relax and get fit again for the next day? The St. Kathreinbad is also great for a day of water fun with water slides for the children.

Snow shoe walks

Go on walks with those funny looking ‘tennis rackets’ strapped to your shoes. Great for improving your fitness levels while enjoying the beautiful surroundings.
